Keynotes & Talks
curiosity – compost – connection
for people who see life as a puzzle worth tending
My keynotes offer grounded, artful inspiration for audiences navigating an increasingly complex world. As a photographer, storyteller, teacher, and facilitator, I guide people to slow down, look closely, and discover meaning in the often-overlooked places of their lives. Through the regenerative metaphors of compost and the visual language of my photographic work, I illuminate how curiosity and connection can transform uncertainty into possibility.
I bring the sensibilities of an educator to every stage and screen to help groups reflect more deeply on their work and relationships. My programs invite audiences to reimagine their relationship to place, purpose, and one another. They speak directly to those seeking renewal: educators and caregivers, artists and community leaders, climate thinkers, innovators, and everyday problem-solvers who want to make meaningful change without burning out.
My presentations cultivate a sense of wonder and agency, reminding us that transformation rarely comes through sweeping gestures, but through the steady rhythms of care. Whether tending a garden, nurturing a creative practice, facilitating community dialogue, or working with physical and digital personal archives, I invite participants to engage more intentionally with what they hold. Through talks and workshops—both online and in person—I encourage people to use the materials of their lives, from photographs to memories, as entry points for reflection, meaning-making, and sharing the stories that define us.

Bring curiosity, compost, and connection to your next event.
Partner with me to spark reflection, inspire hope, and encourage audiences to see their lives and work as fertile ground for renewal.
“Lyn listens thoroughly and speaks clearly, with both verbal precision and appropriate vulnerability. Lyn can discuss deeply personal topics, science, and also has a connective sense of humor. In workshops, the pace is just right and when necessary, she is able to pivot her plans with grace.”
–Lynn Woodward, Kinship Photography Practice Group

Comfrey, Compost & Chives: The Garden that Compost Built
The healing power of cultivating place

Meandering Mold: Messages from a Garden Library
On the beauty of letting go—and what endures
Drawing from my photographic practice, I share how composting books evolved into a spiritual discipline—one that revealed profound insights about memory, reciprocity, and renewal. This talk invites listeners to reflect on what they keep, what they relinquish, and how every ending is also a beginning.
“Lyn came to present to all of our art students at Hanover High School and we would definitely have her come again. Her enthusiasm about her subject matter is tangible and the tales that she tells about her creative journey into photography are engaging. With compost as her theme, her work is also relevant to our times.”
–Sarah Glass, Art Department Coordinator and Teacher, Hanover High School
